Rajma or Kidney Beans originated in Peru. Rajma was introduced into Europe in the 15th century by Spanish explorers returning from their voyages to the New World.

Subsequently, Spanish and Portuguese traders introduced Rajma into Africa and Asia. Some of the best Rajma is said to be grown in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand and the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajma have become a popular food all over the world due to its savoury texture and ability to absorb flavours. But many don’t know that these are a source of health benefits too.
